Brunswick

Walking down the neighborhood
I used to be living in
Used to be a good little place to eat thrashy food right over there

I could not afford my rent
Any longer
Had to find a new broken window hood now that it's got so good

New in - in - in
Old out - out - out
Street life - gone - gone
What happened here

Mom and pop shop turn to hipster startup
Oh no

Now it's just an empty shell
The hipsters swarming
Cindarellahood now without the good vibes shiny white facades

The Lower income brackets have
All been forcefully removed
Fires in the night
Has now been replaced by starbucks logo lights

New in - in - in
Old out - out - out
Street life - gone - gone
What happened here

Bright and now the rain has gone
Flowing into rivers
Pooling in the gutters
Washing all the grime away
Property improvement
Now it's an investment
What is it worth?

This neighborhood has certainly become better
But for who
For who?
