Brenda

Brenda walks through the office doors
And undoes her tie
After working countless days
From six to five

She walks to her apartment
And she lets out a sigh
She lays in bed
And wonders why?

She's a hard-working woman
Says she needs a man no more
But she always asks herself at night,
What's it all for?

Brenda never really learned to date
A divorcee of two
Though she says she doesn't miss them
She knows that isn't true
She pours a glass of wine
And wonders what she's gonna do
She sits down and weeps
For her wasted youth

She had high expectations
And therein lied her fault
No one to spend with for the rest of her life
As she finally hits the wall

Brenda walks to her balcony
To get a breath of air
Five glasses deep of stuff that's not so cheap
As she undoes her hair
It's a long way down as she looks to the ground
With a vacant stare
That night she learned to fly without saying goodbye
And no more burden to bear

Oh Brenda
Oh Brenda
Oh Brenda

Oh Brenda
Oh Brenda
Oh Brenda

Oh Brenda
Oh Brenda
Oh Brenda

Oh Brenda
Oh Brenda
Oh Brenda
