The Wharf

The storms are coming again
No tidal waves or levy breaks
Still we're taking on water fast
I don't think that we will last
We should get to higher ground because

The wharf is flooding
The forecast called for rain
We didn't know it's the time of year where
When it rains it pours
When it rains it pours

As the sky opens up
The clouds will turn a shade of grey
Still the ripples in the water are an accurate depiction
Fractured images distorted pictures

The wharf is flooding
The forecast called for rain
We didn't know it's the time of year where
When it rains it pours
When it rains it pours

I chose to drown even though I know how to swim
