The Chair

Well, I'm just sitting here in this chair
And I don't belong here
I'm not really going anywhere
I need to say what's on my mind but no one ever really takes the time
To see me or understand the personality underneath this "smile"
It's the uncertainty that really rules my mind
Just please understand that I'm a person with a life, with a plan
You know, sometimes I just really, really need to scream

Lies are all that seem to follow me
No respect for the wreck, you only stop from curiosity
Better you just smile and wave
Better I just stay this way
Just give me rope, I'm done with hope
Hanging with myself today

If there's one thing from this that I hope that you can take
that these decisions are based on my experiences and mistakes
You know, they say repetition is the best way to learn things
I'm not really so certain that that applies to me
If you could, close your eyes, look past what you see
Look past the appearance and try to find the real me
Just try and find the real me
Sometimes, I just really need to scream

Lies are all that seem to follow me
No respect for the wreck, you only stop from curiosity
Better you just smile and wave
Better I just stay this way
Just give me rope, I'm done with hope
Hanging with myself today

Hanging with myself today
