One and the Same

When we were young we searched for who was the one
But we didn't know that he was looking back at me
Time again he'll show up to be that second head
Judging me from across the room or getting me through the night
Will you be with me forever or walk out the door?
Because I've been here before alone in my room trying to figure it out
I can do without your judgment if I can be sober tonight
Deep down we both know we're one and the same

Staring at myself in the mirror like, "Who do you think you are?"
Stop looking at me with those eyes I know I'm not you
We can't be famous with an outlook like this
What will we do, will we come together or will we fall?

All you were was a knife in the throat of honesty
And all I could say was it's time for us to turn the other way
We needed each other to learn what it meant to have a life
And how someone could make us feel so empty inside
