That Night

I can't stop thinking about that night
I remember all the little things
How we sat down on your sofa
And how you were playing with my rings
You were playing with my rings
Trying to get a drink from your kitchen
How we went for attempt one, two and three
But how all the attempts failed
Because you couldn't keep your hands off me

And I also still remember
How you looked down with a little grin
"I love looking at your necklace" you joked
But it was my body you were taking in
And as the night progressed
Neither of us could believe our eyes
Complimenting each others beauty
And kissing until sunrise

But in the daylight it was different
You spoke to me without a sound
You smiled while gently stroking my face
Like there was nothing else around
And for a moment maybe there wasn't
I forgot about my heart and all it's holes
It was like neither of us had bodies
And it was only just our souls

But maybe none of it was real
Maybe I made it all up in my head
Maybe I read between the lines
All the words you never said
Maybe one day it won't hurt
I won't hate myself and scream
Maybe I'II remember it
Like it was all a distant dream
