Bedtime Story

There once was a girl with a belly so full
From feasting on fish the size of an elephant's skull
She once had a future, her brother did too
And by eating their elephant fish, they grew and they grew

Then came a time when the river ran dry
The fish had gone and jumped up into the sky
From up above they circled her head
Waiting till her or her brother dropped dead

For our mother remembers what we did yesterday
Things are easy to remember when they never decay

But a story is a story and words are just words
There's no way that a fish can turn into a bird
So don't be afraid of these stories of mine
We're doing okay, and you'll always be fine
Night, night
