Session Road

I took a walk down Session Road
Thirteen degrees, and it's quite cold
Have no idea why they said it would be hot
Just like the way you said you'd be here, but you're not
I take a picture just to pass the time
These busy streets don't seem to mind
I bump into a stranger, I trip, I fall over
And then, that's when I look into his eyes

He's lost in the crowd
Can't find him now
All these faces look the same
But somehow, he stood out, out
He looks nothing like you
Had to point it out 'cause it's true
Can't you see that this is proof that
Someday, I'll get over you?

I heard of souvenirs and goods from the town
And so, I thrifted all these hand-me-down
'Cause I felt kinda bad that no one ever wants to wear them
Just like the way I clean up everything you've broken
And so, I run out of the bar
To painted jeeps and taxi cars
I started counting sheep like it's hopeless
And that's when I saw him from a distance

He sounds like you
I spoke too soon
I just haven't got a clue
How meeting him leads back to you
This love's like a drug
And I can't help getting stuck
But I hold on to this luck
That someday I can give this up

Upside down, you go and
Turn me around so you can
Cut me out and leave me screaming
(Look at me now)
Session Road is not the same
When I heard whispers of your name in the air
I still feel you here

He sounds like you
I spoke too soon
I just haven't got a clue
How meeting him leads back to you
This love's like a drug
And I can't help getting stuck
But I hold on to this luck
That someday I can give this up

Look at him go
Hope you enjoyed the show
If I ever find my way back into love
You'll be the last to know
