Atlas Exalted

To slog and toil
As a soldier who wears the scars
Of a thousand battlefields
That have bared my trace
I march

The lives of many, hewn in gory smite
Comrades and rivals, all alike, effaced
I have never shed this armor I wear
All days, I am incessantly wary
For foes shall strike when I am least aware
No house is a beacon for to tarry
I am afraid that now my flesh grows cold
Melding as one with these coats of chain mail
What am I now?
A soul supplanted
To lay my armor down
Is death
Is nothing

Even if this war does end, I will hold
Even if this war does end
I won't be what I ever was
My sword, I'll grip until I'm dying and frail
Oh these plates weigh so heavy
I am naught, if not as
I am naught, if not as
I am naught, if not as
I am naught
If not as a soldier

Grating
Bearing the weight
Weathered
Will not break

Embrace this loss of self
Embrace this living hell
For life is not of searching
For some sense of lasting peace
We move as soldiers forward
With every dying breath
We were born to bear the weight
Through suffering is contentment

To slog and toil
It's the weight that we must carry
The weak are crushed asunder
But we shall sally forth
To carry the weight
Upon the earth

With swords unsheathed we chase our fate on willing feet
We bear the weight of living
Every ounce of agony
And when, our time does come
We die, with integrity
For we were born in Hell
Hell was made for me
I embrace this
This fate
I will stand with nobility
I embrace this
This weight
I was born to stand the pain
I embrace this
This fate
I will stand with nobility
I embrace this
This weight
I was born to stand the pain
