Ghosts in My Basement

There's ghosts in my basement
I used to know them well
I used to see their faces
But now it's hard to tell
My world is filled with strangers
They don't know me and I don't know them
And the ghosts, they still haunt me
I think I used to call them friends

This may be the first day
Of the rest of our lives
But underneath, they shy away
They wear sheets to disguise

We used to be the party
We could make fire with two sticks
But now I hear the thunder
I see the words washing off our script
I cherish all the memories
They'll be forever in my head
There's ghosts in my basement
Can't tell if they're living or they're dead

This may be the first day
Of the rest of our lives
But underneath, they shy away
They wear sheets to disguise
