Graduation

You
Taught me how to ride a bike
For the first time
I
Don't blame you for the fact that you got
Busy with your life

Always too afraid to tell you how I feel
And sometimes I get nervous when I lie
Even if I know it's for the best of me
Guilty conscience eats me up inside
Eats me up alive

And I
Can barely tell the difference
Between
Adulthood and my innocence
Childhood tasted sweeter than
The bitterness of graduation

I feel
Like now I can
Consider us as friends
I fought my way through growing up
To earn your respect

But sometimes I'm still a child
In the aisle lost at
The grocery store

And as I'm getting older
The list keeps getting longer
Of the things I'll never know

And I
Can barely tell the difference
Between
Adulthood and my innocence
Childhood tasted sweeter than
The bitterness of graduation

Childhood tasted sweeter than
The bitterness of graduation
