The Balcony

I was watching from my window
When i thought i lost my head
I saw Death by a lamppost
And she filled me full of lead
She was wearing a white toga
With purple at the hems
Gold on her eyelids
And the glow of the heavens

Down the barrel she looked at me
With an old Colt .44
Well I aint' seen much mischief
But i knew that she meant war
And like a man or out of fear
I was rooted where I stood?
I gazed down the barrel
Til my vision filled with blood
Filled with blood

So wont you
Sing to me
From your balcony?
I'll be loud and proud
In my praise
Sing to me
Oh darling sing so sweetly!
We'll cut through this old
Dirty town haze

When the penny finally dropped
It was far too late to turn tail
I headed down to Hades
Wearing that dark black veil
I'm a mourner out my mind
I'm in love but out of luck
I revoked each devil's bargain
And the truth's that i fucked up

There i was sat on a cloud
Trying to fathom out true love
I ignored the fallen rain
And watched the nothingness above
Above

So wont you
Sing to me
From your balcony?
I'll be loud and proud
In my praise
Sing to me
Oh darling sing so sweetly!
We'll cut through this old
Dirty town haze

Sing to me
From your balcony!
I'll be loud and proud
In my praise
Sing to me, oh darling
Sing so sweetly
We'll cut through this old
Dirty town haze

I was watching
Your dark window
When perfume flooded my head
All the memories veiled in darkness
Now like sunlight on your bed
