A View for the Blind

Sat down on the bench next an old weathered man
Tipped my hat and shared him my thoughts
Said we're stuck on this station, with no destination
Printed on the tickets we bought
He reached for his lighter, looked up on to me said
Hold on let me light this some more
Then he tied all together, said roll with the weather
We're here and we're both counted for

Touching base with the delicate way to lay forth
The wordings and ways to portray
A view for the blind, it sure brings to mind
The extent of our struggles each day

Aside all unrest and the trouble he said
Give praise every breath you inhale
May it otherwise be, the contempt of the free
That untightens your bond to prevail
I nodded admittedly, a train broke the still
And its wind cleared the smoke from his cigar
The price of this trip, the words from his lips
Said is paid for by whom we both are

Touching base with the delicate way to lay forth
The wordings and ways to portray
A view for the blind, it sure brings to mind
The extent of our struggles each day

To the best of ability, we strive for the good
And as such we're all granted an in
Though stuck on this station, with no destination
Our journey is about to begin
And in terms of inaccuracy lead your whole life
Roll her straight down the trails of your heart
To feel comfortable still, to be strong in your will
And stand steady, when things fall apart

Touching base with the delicate way to lay forth
The wordings and ways to portray
A view for the blind, it sure brings to mind
The extent of our struggles each day
