Doomed

We thought we controlled life,
we thought we controlled death,
yet we are falling down
under disease's threat.
With hubris in our hearts,
with power in our hands,
we forgot how fragile
we truly, truly are.

And that's only beginning,
the worst is still to come,
we'll sink under the seas,
fire will eat our homes,
we'll choke with air we crave,
eat plastic we threw out,
kill for a glass of water
which we find worthless now.

And that's only beginning,
the worst is still to come,
we'll sink under the seas,
fire will eat our homes,
we'll choke with air we crave,
eat plastic we threw out,
kill for a glass of water
which we find worthless now.

We'll go down with history,
sufferers from their faults,
their grandsons and their sons.
The ones that have been told
that whole wide world stands open,
too bad the world was buried
with our dreams being broken.
