This Is Dixie

You can see the sunlight shining off the surface to the sky
And you can hear the motors running from the boats as they go by
You can hear the kids on down the way
Running and screaming as they play

You can see the sturgeon jumping even though we don't know why
And you can hear the bullfrogs croaking as the day turns into night
And underneath this moonlit sky you'll see just what I see

This is home, I'm right where I belong
These summer days and summer nights with you by my side
Are exactly what I might call home

With the river far as it is wide
And the water dark as midnight
Dixie is my home

You got the mainline down in Suwannee Town
And Fanning Springs to cool you down
You got the gulf on the whole West side
Steinhatchee for a damn good time
And there's nothing that could ever change
The way I feel about this place
