The Birds of Valhalla

We've all heard the tales of the shields of the fallen
The oak and the iron laced upon the halls of odin
As the brave, the bold, feast on the boar
And the Valkyrie open each hero's door

But I sing a tale of the spirits of the rafters
The shadows that nest above the war and the laughter
As each shield maiden and brother in arms
Feast till their hearts content
And I find it relevant

For what is a feast without berries and wine
Yields of the harvest where rivers may wind
Flowers of the mountains, and salts of the sea
Gathered by shadow, by those who fly free

The ravens
They serve the chosen
Ygdrasil's eyes
Watching Valhalla's rise
Till the time of the wolf has begun

The ravens
They serve the chosen
Ygdrasil's eyes
Watching Valhalla's rise
Till the time of the wolf has begun

The ravens
They serve the chosen
Ygdrasil's eyes
Watching Valhalla's rise
Till the time of the wolf has begun

The ravens
They serve the chosen
Ygdrasil's eyes
Watching Valhalla's rise
Till the time of the wolf has begun

Come warrior rest in the peace of the hills
In the fragrance of flowers and the fruits of the fields
Feel the winds of the fjords as they dance through the pines
And fill the wings of the ravens divine
As they gather their bounty from Asgard below
Bringing gifts of the soil to Odins beloved
When you hear the song of the ravens you'll know
That the birds of Valhalla are calling you home
