Wildfire

Sometimes it takes a wildfire to release a seed
A sapling struggles upward, bends it's way toward the new opening
The gap, the impact of a large fallen tree
It could not survive the inferno of heat
Now it's sinking in the deep
Forest's wooden meat
Next stop the fungal weave
But we grow together, like a forest entwines
Movement below, roots gripping, alive
We grow together, generations combine
The more we love, the tighter we bind

Sometimes it's a wildfire
Sometimes fire takes it all
Sometimes it leaves you devastated
But with months of sweet rainfall
New life will flourish again
New heights can then be reached
I turn my face toward the sun
I know my heart is sweet

Wildfire cleared the way
Lessons learned from a fall
Lessons from the forest floor
Guide me to new heights
New life grows over it all
