God's Guide

Tell me how you speak when you got a lot to say
Tell me how you talk to God when you forget to pray
Tell me how you walk with God when you been lead astray
Despite the circumstances tell me how you keep the faith
These are questions that's coming from a youngin
Who's contemplating on thuggin
He lost but in search of something
But instead found it in the wrong place
Found a way out of no way
But stayed in good hands like all state
On this road we call life
With no direction
Heard a voice calling to me at the intersection like

I'm on my way to guide you

Four generations under one roof
Absolute proof
I've witnessed drug abuse in my residence
No analysis needed like forensic scientist
Blood thicker than water
Dialysis make it harder to filter those genes
Rooted in my family tree
Trauma
I'll never dig up
See I rather drink up
Until everything I tried to keep down
I spit up in that sink bruh
How far you think I can sink huh
If I told myself not to think huh
Them prescriptions set off a subscription to addiction
Self infliction now I'm a walking contradiction
Off the top I'm spewing wisdom
While Alcohol floods my system
They don't get it so in turn I judge'em like a critic
But I gotta thank God for who God is
Directing my path when I'm in need some of guidance
My savior I confide in
Look back I'm reminded
When you're lost
On the cross roads
That's when you'll find him

Runnin' and runnin' and runnin' and runnin and runnin to You
Runnin' and runnin' and runnin' and runnin and runnin to You
Runnin' and runnin' and runnin' and runnin and runnin to You
Runnin' and runnin' and runnin' and runnin and runnin to You
Cause I don't know where to go
And I don't know what to do
And I don't know who to turn to
That's when I heard the Lord say
I'm on my way to guide you

Thunderstorms in my mind outside it's blue skies
Feeling new lows to them
I'm reaching new heights
Set free around my neck
I feel a noose tied
Ever since the day I found out that that Jew died
Said he laid his own down to give me new life
And every wrong I ever did, it's like He's too blind
But deep inside I never felt too right
Cause I know what I did
It led me to hide
All smiles on my face but my soul ached
Screaming so loud I couldn't hear the Lord say

I'm on my way to guide you

I was seven became one of the brethren
Didn't know I'd go through hell while I was on my way to heaven
Just a young boy but I would learn the oldest lesson
About the schemes tricks and the enemy's deception
Check it
He showed me something I ain't wanna see
But I wanna see, so I kept the images in front of me
Buggin' B these things only should a husband meet
I beat it to the punch, just for it to end up punching me
Hid the secret well I kept up a facade
Believed I was a fraud, how could I believe in God
I was lost all in the sauce and I ran from all my problems
I couldn't face my fears and I camped out in the darkness
It wasn't till
He cut on the light
I know that I'll be alright
Cause he loves me in spite
Of what I done did or what I just might
I don't need to fret with God on my side

Runnin' and runnin' and runnin' and runnin and runnin to You
Runnin' and runnin' and runnin' and runnin and runnin to You
Runnin' and runnin' and runnin' and runnin and runnin to You
Runnin' and runnin' and runnin' and runnin and runnin to You
Cause I don't know where to go
And I don't know what to do
And I don't know who to turn to
That's when I heard the Lord say
I'm on my way to guide you
