Wendigo

I wander back to my home
It's almost All Hallows' eve
The nights are growing darker
And it's nearly time to grieve
Because every year on that day
Dark creatures wander free
And I have a feeling this year
That one's coming for me

We've all heard the stories
Ever since we were young
Of something lurking in the trees
Waiting for its next victim
No one knows quite what it is
But I feel it in my bones
Yeah I've seen it in the shadows
And I think that it knows

It's a Wendigo

I lock all my windows
Close the blinds and try to sleep
But somethings breaking down the door
And it's time for me to leave
I take off running towards the woods
Under the veil of trees
And I'm thinking that I've won
Then I hear that hollow scream

My mother told me not to believe
In monsters lurking in the dark
But I know what I have seen
I feel it breathing down my neck
And I whirl around to see
A pair of hungry eyes
And I know that's it for me

It's a Wendigo
It's a Wendigo
It's a Wendigo
