The other day I had a dream that I was on the fence
And that I ran away from church because I took offense

God knows and he sees it

That God is real and Satan only tells you lies
Darkness is the absence of a little light

Me and the guys, we grew up from the struggle
Affording nothing so we had to learn to hustle
Didn't get no teddy bear that we could cuddle
Still we smiled every day, the pain was subtle

I mentioned that we hustled but it wasn't good
We started stealing and we lied because we knew we could
It's kinda funny when I think about it now you know
Because it started with a conversation on the road

Went like, wilsy how you doing?
He told me Jay Jay to be honest, boy I'm ruined
I know that life is not supposed to be so easy
But I just wanna live a life that is so easy

What's the point of living life when it's so sad
And I'm tired of being good Imma do bad

And I could tell that he was serious
I was mad too of course I would be into it
Then he looked at me and asked me if I'm in or out
I told him boy you know I'm in what are you talking about

So we started doing things we weren't supposed to do
Disrespecting older people like we thought is cool
We were arrogant and listening to nobody
Seeking for attention trying to be a somebody

But one day I swear it all changed
We got invited to a strange place
Saw so many people with a bright face
We understood that it's the same space

And then somebody started talking about the love of God
And I was kinda nervous I was feeling kinda odd
And then the person came and asked me what's my name
I told him hey my name is Jay but I'm just feeling kinda strange cause

I know the road I'm on is damaging
And I don't understand what's happening
All these people what it means can you tell me what it is
He smiled and told me this is family

And it got me in my feels
Wilsy told me Jay I think this is for real
This a place where I could heal
Now we chat go out and eat meals

I make music with a new light
Telling everybody about this new life
God knows that we should never lose sight
