Written Letters, Pt4

Jesus, the Son of Man
Crucified for me
A story that can never get old
In a human body, just like my own
He takes lashes that connect from flesh to the bone
With His blood dripping from His crown made of thorns.

The Lord of all lords

Whipped and beaten
Took sin, gave freedom
Because of His sacrifice
I can stand and breathe in
Eternal life

See I could never have put up the same fight
That's simply a burden I couldn't carry
But He didn't parry this responsibility
He took it on
How Jesus, are You this compassionate for us?
When we've treated You so callously

The scripture says
"There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends"
Funny thing is I wasn't even His friend, I was an enemy
Yet He went through that mockery just for me

Just for us

See I've learnt something from You Lord
Greatness can come from pain
And just like how you make beauty for ashes, and replace mourning with praise
I'll fixate on You when many trials come my way
When the pressures of life try to take my breath away
And temptations knock on my door
I'll wait patiently just a bit more
For when I'm weak
Let Your strength be made perfect in me
And as I die daily remind me that one Day I'll be lifted up in Your glory

Thank You Lord for giving us the victory

Done
