What's Next
Woke up from a dream one night
A child was trembling with fright
With tearful voice the child said
My gold fish will soon be dead
I rushed to check my fish tank
For Jimmy, Julia and Frank
They were still swimming upright
Under the fluorescent light
Then I went to a mirror
And saw an aging figure
Frowns and smiles have left their trace
Wrinkling all over the face
Then the young child would appear
Her face was still, stained with tears
She pointed towards the floor
And I saw an open door
A hundred long winding steps
It echoed deep when I clapped
Fireflies hovered around
Uncertainly I walked down
My eyes started to shed tears
A mixture of joy and fears
Memories from all my past
Flashed from first step to the last
Colors, sounds and mother's kiss
People whom I love and miss
All came by to say hello
Till the end of the hollow.
There was the child from my dream
A gold fish swam in a stream
Between dreams and reality
What's next? I can't wait to see
A child was trembling with fright
With tearful voice the child said
My gold fish will soon be dead
I rushed to check my fish tank
For Jimmy, Julia and Frank
They were still swimming upright
Under the fluorescent light
Then I went to a mirror
And saw an aging figure
Frowns and smiles have left their trace
Wrinkling all over the face
Then the young child would appear
Her face was still, stained with tears
She pointed towards the floor
And I saw an open door
A hundred long winding steps
It echoed deep when I clapped
Fireflies hovered around
Uncertainly I walked down
My eyes started to shed tears
A mixture of joy and fears
Memories from all my past
Flashed from first step to the last
Colors, sounds and mother's kiss
People whom I love and miss
All came by to say hello
Till the end of the hollow.
There was the child from my dream
A gold fish swam in a stream
Between dreams and reality
What's next? I can't wait to see
