Cloud 9

Pressed my luck on
A Monday
Found a friend in the bottom of my drawer meant for keepsakes
But this tastes like
No one's home
Let's take a trip for the day
First 30 got the tingles and the butterflies you know
The next hour I melted into memories
How did this room become slow-mo?

It's been a minute since I was way up here
Cloud 9 is softer than I remember
From the last time I disappeared
By myself with my vices I use to
Take cover
And discover what I should do
Just like that it's a done deal it's over
Need to kill my ego and do it soon

Drawing shapes like mushrooms in the sand of the hourglass
Trying to go beyond this room
But there are walls I can't get past
Shaping myself however I can
Slipping through time like red clay in my hands
It's been a minute since I've been way up here

Cloud 9 is softer than I remember
From the last time I disappeared
By myself with my vices I use to
Take cover
And discover what I should do
Just like that it's a done deal it's over
Need to kill my
Kill my

Didn't have the trip I wanted
Lost the warmth
It all went south
Next time I won't be showing up haunted
'Cause it left the worst taste in my mouth
No not what I expected
Is this what everyone's been talking about?
Thought it'd be different
Thought I'd see whatever I needed to
Not just be left with more questions
About who I am
Who I'm not
And just how to cope
With the feeling of
Doing all of this alone

But that's how I like it
Just had to try it

Cloud 9
Cloud 9 on a monday
