Small Town Troubles
Charlie works in a french cafe
He's in an am dram group on a saturday
He never learns his lines
Cause he think he'll be alright
Rosie works at the bakery
She tells everyone it's a patisserie
She doesn't use her discount
Cause she's trying to eat gluten free
Leonard's training as a therapist
But people find him too much of an optimist
He's helping friends with things
But he needs to work on listening
Yeah the boy needs to work on... what was it again?
Otto finds himself in Leonard's chair
Someone tell the boy, he's a poundshop Freud
He takes a quick dislike to his advice
He says Leonard stop, your rose tinted glasses
Could make shit taste like molasses
He says you're rose tinted glasses
Could make shit taste like molasses
Andy works in the world of bins
Takes a sneak peak whilst he's emptying them
Hoping he might find
The right kind of gift
For Rosie down at the patisserie
He swears it's just a bakery
He turns his eye to check the sign
And grins
Otto wants to be in magazines
He doesn't care 'bout the topic, he just wants to be seen
He teaches journalism, At the local prison for free
Tonight they've got the showing of the village play
(Everybody says, its gonna be a long day)
Now it's only minutes in when Charlie has a go at improvising
Rosie rolls her eyes, he's mucked it up
She saw it coming, yeah but then who wouldn't
But anyway, Leonard's gaze
Betrays just how far away
His concentration is today
He misses the cue to walk off stage
Til Otto drops Andy's minging dumpster props
He says sorry boss, (ooh ah ooh)
At least we ain't takin' refunds
He's in an am dram group on a saturday
