Magic Island

There's a cove I swam through
In the alabaster night
Dogs swam free like dolphins
Through the mountains in the sky
Bats circled the bamboo
Little fish could full fly
Satan turned a witch to stone
The sea began to rise

The Magic Island shines her light
I drift off in a deep delight

There's a tree I walked past
While bumbling downtown
I saw all God's ancestors
Politely gathered around
They passed each other pumpkins
While feasting on the sound
Of raindrops from the Mother's eye
Softening the ground

The Magic Island settles down
I get dressed for another round

There's a house I stayed in
Where the language that they speak
Is mandolin's and marijuana
Sunshine disbelief
Leave your broken heart there
As a humble offering
The old man shows you heaven
And teaches you to sing

The Magic Island falls asleep
I wake up in another dream
The Magic Island falls asleep
I wake up in another dream
