Fantail

I don't know what I've been doing in so much as I've been living
I guess things are getting written but that's it as far as spitting
Still holding true to my position but, I'd be lying if I said my grip has ever been as tight, at times I feel it slipping
Can't say I'm l working daily on my mission, but I get a couple visions
Every now and then that sort of feel like premonitions
Then my intuition fires up, again, I rarely ever listen

Tracing back my steps, wonder where the fear came
The catalyst that triggers when the tears rain
Uncovering my story, what a mad tale
Wonder why it matters, eating burrata and salad at the Fantail
Big smiles, thank the waiters for their service
Don't tell em bout my mouth that's started tingling, I might just be allergic

But my mother used to tell me I was overthinking always being sensitive
And my dad would tell me just to keep on fighting through the pain
So believe me when I say it's only in my recent struggles that I've started saying anything
Some random bars while I'm waiting for the laundrette
Can't afford a dryer but no harm in doing more steps
Soaking in the sunshine, wonder who I see as core friends
And who I'm holding onto for the years that we've been backing, the ones who seem inactive
The ones who when I see I do approach the scene with caution
Again, big smiles, they don't see the deep reaction

Cuz when I heard here we go again from a very old friend when I was talking about my race that's when i'd seen the damage
The child in me was talking
And said that we've been through this long enough
So fuck off with this tryna keep the peace, I've had it
I'm grabbing every stone that represents my every bone to pick and holding it like man was Thanos cuz I'm getting close to lit and snapping cuz I feel like things were never how they should be and we really need the balance
Reinstated, but I'm walking, on this fine line where any time I'm mad at all
They so easily can label me as radical
When my not so coloured counterparts can come and do the same and hey
Maybe we should, just let them come and save the day
