Crestfallen

Spat out to the earth, to the depths of the sea
Where fragile life trembles, so small one can't see
Evolution instilled, obstreperous growth and mutation
Sparks of light as new life conceived where the soul and body unite
Crustacean to hominid, I've beheld them all
Watching chaos unravel as millennia march on
They suffer sting of winter's chill, and fester in the summer sun
They rise and fall, and I bear witness to it all
I've sown the seeds of life, and claimed this for my own
Stamped out the ones of old to watch destruction unfold

Horror rises
Truth from the deep, we seek its despair
Into the earth we seep in decay
Writhing chaos
A messenger of light through the fray
Gnashing the specter of hope from the way
Up from below
Lich of torment, my soul gives way
Through pain of death, our justice this day

Betrayer of life, betrayed my own seed
Deception and sin, the hallmark of greed
Tainted is the flicker of life, tinged with darkness grim
I've paid the toll and sold the sanctity of life within
My pact, my pride, I tiptoe down the path of ruin
I twisted the code, and seeded discord where sea and sky unite
The gods have an inkling, a memory from a place that cannot exist
I've tread this path a lifetime ago, where time stood still

Sensory understanding of that which cannot be
Summon the will to bring the end and set me free
Eons of strife bound by hate
Take my guilt away

I am the sleeper, I am the sea
I dream in the depths where none can see, till my deeds are wiped clean
In my shrine I commiserate, for the havoc cannot be undone
For the end I shall wait, till I'm judged at the gates or I'm awakened by the one
In cold and darkness my progeny march on
To seek the cause of their unfortunate flaws and pierce the veil of night
All of their scorn flies upon my throne and they tear me limb from limb
I watch from aside, as their blades kiss the tides, no body for a soul to coincide

Born of fire
The majesty of the legacy shines forth
A home in the darkness where light cannot sway
Dejected and restless
A plea to the Nephilim above, so below
Echoes down the river Styx
Thy grievance is spoken, thy toll is collected
In life thou shalt suffer till the earth grows grey
A life near eternal, your chains they shall stay
