Poet Knows the Way
Stumbling through the stars with a broken heart
I'll find some way in
A name on the sleeve, someone who had to leave
Beatrice, I'm gone again
The darkest woods, I thought you should
Be waiting by the gate
All hope's abandoned and there's not time to waste
Chasing Circles, diving down the damned drain
The lion, the leopard, and the wolf all pathetic with pain
But the poet knows the way
The other side of the grave
Climbing through the clouds, a foggy shroud
I'm finding some way out
The three in the jaws, formed with flaws
But we took the scenic route
You left me from the Lethe, but I won't be forgetting
Griffin quiet and you shouting
"Climb into the chariot" and you led me up the mountain
Chasing Circles, diving down the damned drain
The lion, the leopard, and the wolf all pathetic with pain
But the poet knows the way
The other side of the grave
Tear it down, implode now
Smooth the ground
Gates open as angels sing
Screeching sounds, tear it down
Virgil, write down everything
The darkest crown, implode it now
Frozen lakes and viper stings
Dark surrounds, smooth the ground
Erase Limbo and all the rings
The dragon's breath
The demon's roar
We draw our pens in place of swords
Destined for death
But wary of war
Half bound in ice
Prostrate for our reward
Push to shove, in light of love
Your grace, a golden guide
In pure purging, paradise
I'll find some way in
A name on the sleeve, someone who had to leave
Beatrice, I'm gone again
The darkest woods, I thought you should
Be waiting by the gate
All hope's abandoned and there's not time to waste
Chasing Circles, diving down the damned drain
The lion, the leopard, and the wolf all pathetic with pain
But the poet knows the way

Climbing through the clouds, a foggy shroud
