Story (Live)
This next song is in dedication to one of my musical heroes
The late Roy Hargrove
I played here for the first time ten years ago
And I played with Roy's quintet on this very stage
My first time playing in the band with Roy
My first time playing at the village vanguard
And we are gonna play a song that I actually learned from him in Seattle
On the way to a recording session
Uh, it's somewhere on You-tube, I think it's in Seattle at KPLU
And we learned this song seconds before performing it
And it's entitled "Soulful"
