Prosthetic Faith

Lost! in a forest and terrified
Desperate the sinner stumbles into the grove
The moaning breeze and groaning trees
Crackling, cackling
Whisper chills of what's ahead

She's lured by a wisp
Between willow rows
Through weeping tentacles
Beaded curtains dangling

The orb glows moonlight blue
With iridescent hue
Casting hypnotizing light
Unto her eyes, the sparks ignite
Fireflies spell the Word

God is you!
The letters scatter
They illuminate her steps
Emboldened, she follows her guides
Sure she's on the way
The woods are getting dense
She's swiping at spider webs
Tripping on roots and vines
What could the darkness veil

A giant fucking snake
In the flowery bed of the garden of disguise
The coiled rope rises with a sneer
Face to face with the beast
She cowers in fear
She tries to run but to no avail, petrified
Her body seduced
Entangled in tendril claws
With a grimace and a flick of its tail
It caresses her throat
Hugs her neck like a noose
Hissing...

God is dead

She's lured by a wisp
Misled by its charm
Betrayal of the highest form

Consummate her fate
Swallowed by the snake
One last breath under the canopy
Gangling fingers mock her shame
