Where Are Those Days

My childhood days of fun and play
Within a flick of the thumb has shattered
The dream that I thought that was mine
Never dreamt that be a change in my life
From a carefree world, I'd land myself
Like this for now it's time where life is bound
With work and care a minute not to spare
To dream the dream that I once had
But Alas it was not to be

Where are those days
When life was young and gay
Where the world was so small
And you could grasp it all

The 24 hours I had for play
To sing and dance and whirl away
Has flown away child of today
'Cause of the burden of today
For now it is get up and run to school
And tax the brain or else ya ruined
For such leisure that is not mine
If I want to compete with the rest of the gang
Then I must toil then I must sweat
And I must leave the fun behind
For as I sow so shall I reap

Where are those days
When life was young and gay
Where the world was so small
And you could grasp it all

Where are those days
When life was young and gay
Where the world was so small
And you could grasp it all
