I thought the Light would be my saving grace
A sanctuary from the Shadows' embrace
But Ascension came with its own weight
A new kind of struggle I couldn't anticipate!

I reached for stars that seemed to shine so bright
But, up close, they burned, blinding my sight
The pedestal they put me on, so high
Turned out to be a lonely and dangerous place to reside!

They said Ascension would set me free
But, now I wonder what's become of me, who am I?
The Light's demand, the expectations, so grand, cost too high!
Am I trapped in a cycle I can't understand, forever just tell me, why?

Suffering in Paradise, the irony so clear
The Light's Embrace can be cold and severe!
I've traded one struggle for another, it's True
Trying to find my way, to redefine what's dear to me!

I thought Ascension was my ultimate goal
But, the pressure's like a vice, it's suffocating and I can't breathe
Thought it was a chance to heal old wounds, to mend my Soul
But, the Light's grip on me, it's intoxicating for me!

They expect me to be flawless, strong and wise
Yet sometimes I'm just a broken man, in disguise
The power I gained, the battles I've won
Still leave me feeling like I'm coming undone

I'm split at the seams
They said Ascension would bring me clarity
But, I'm lost in a maze of uncertainty, it's unclear to me!
The weight of their hopes, their eyes upon me
I'm struggling to find where I'm meant to be
Where should I be?

Suffering again in Paradise, a paradox to face
The Light's embrace can be a gilded cage!
I'm yearning for authenticity, a way to break free
To find my own path and let my Soul be free!

I'll navigate this journey on my own, all alone
Find my identity, let my True Self be known!
