Ghost of Greyling Street

The place at the end of the street, they say don't go up there
But the kids come around for a scare
I've been the sole occupant since '06
But they marked it abandoned because I don't exist
I am invisible but now and then
I ache with the floorboards and scream with the wind
I am the ghost who you've heard about
This house is a memory to which I am bound
On Cemetery Hill, on the crest
You'll find a gravestone smaller than the rest
On an icy night, the other driver was drunk
And freezing water closed on little lungs
If you're passing my front gate you might sense my despair
Or catch a flash of anger in the window upstairs
I am the ghost of Greyling Street
And I am waiting to be set free
