The Good Old Days
Offlate the skies zimekuwa Grey,
Unlike the Good Old Days,
The skies were purely blue,
Back when laughter flowed freely.
At least ata kama ningetake black tea,
Nilikuwa assured supper was catered for,
At someone else's expense,
Generosity and togetherness prevailed.
But sikuhizi responsibilities ni way beyond my age,
Burdened by worries, innocence fades,
Yet the echoes of childhood laughter linger,
Reminding us of simpler times.
But the more tuna live in a land of impunity,
The more the Good Old Days Zina perish away,
Unity once strong now feels fragile,
Yet hope remains for brighter tomorrows.
Enzi za kale, furaha tele,
Pamoja na jua na jua limepambazuka,
Kwa pamoja tulishirikiana,
Kutengeneza kumbukumbu za maisha.
In those days of wonder and glee,
Boundless dreams painted our future,
Opportunities flowed like a river,
Oh, how I yearn for those days!
But the present carries a different tune,
Struggles and battles we must confront,
Yet amidst the challenges we hold tight,
To memories of The Good Old Days.
Enzi za kale, furaha tele,
Pamoja na jua na jua limepambazuka,
Kwa pamoja tulishirikiana,
Kutengeneza kumbukumbu za maisha.
Let us not forget what once was,
Let the past teach and guide,
For even in these contrasting times,
We can resurrect the spirit of old.
As we navigate this ever-changing world,
May we infuse a piece of history,
Carry forward the lessons we've learned,
And revive the essence of unity.
Enzi za kale, furaha tele,
Pamoja na jua na jua limepambazuka,
Kwa pamoja tulishirikiana,
Kutengeneza kumbukumbu za maisha.
In the tapestry of time, threads intertwine,
The past, present, and future align,
Embracing change while treasuring roots,
Envisioning a tapestry woven anew.
And so, we stand at the crossroads,
Appreciating The Good Old Days,
Critiquing the present with discerning eyes,
While holding onto hope for tomorrow.
Enzi za kale, furaha tele,
Pamoja na jua na jua limepambazuka,
Kwa pamoja tulishirikiana,
Kutengeneza kumbukumbu za maisha.
As the sun sets on memories past,
And rises on paths yet untrodden,
May we remember, cherish, and learn,
For in the blend lies life's true essence.
Enzi za kale, furaha tele,
Pamoja na jua na jua limepambazuka,
Kwa pamoja tulishirikiana,
Kutengeneza kumbukumbu za maisha.
In unity and diversity, we find strength,
In the old and the new, we find balance,
So let's build bridges, heal what's been torn,
And in every chapter, let love be reborn.
