The Womb
Deep in the dark, his thoughts ran wild
Committed to his banishment, he recoiled like a child
The womb was wounded, the veil was vexed
He then turned to violence he had long suppressed
The fire went out, and he was left an amputee
Bereft of any solid link to reality
Spawned from weakness, his desire grew deranged
Once crumbled, all his cornerstones, his body took revenge
Bound by visions from the boundless void
Closer to the edge he had pledged to not avoid
Mute and tired, he longs to free
With mutiny his mind from reason's tyranny
Early in the morning
A silent prayer
It's hard to tell apart
Here from nowhere
Behind his eyelids
Things fall apart
It's hard to tell where things
Do end or start
Loomed a candle in the shadows' nest
And though his fears were manifold, they did manifest
An aching echoed in his hollow shell
For kindness of any kind could see his unrest quell
His name was just a sound, his body a silhouette
When with myriads of memories as billows, it was beset
Lost in laughter, he denied them all
Having made peace with solitude, he waits for death to call
Much too soon his resilience caved
By holding to the past, his consciousness remained
Time untamed did resume its trot
His body was a cage, and language was the lock
Early in the morning
A silent prayer
It's hard to tell apart
Here from nowhere
Behind his eyelids
Things fall apart
It's hard to tell where things
Do end or start
My body is a cage
And I am barely a man
To drown in my own self
Must leave it all behind
I'm looking for the cure
To the sickness of the word
I reach out but cannot feel
Soon I'll be free of will
And I'll be free of thought
I'll be free of pain
And I'll be free of desire
Nothing shall remain
And I'll be free of pride
I'll be free of shame
I'll be free of this urge
I'll be free of these chains
And I'll be free of doubt
I'll be free of faith
And I'll be free of hope
I'll be free of hate
And I'll be free of love
And I'll be free of cheer
I'll be free of creed
I'll be free of fear
Committed to his banishment, he recoiled like a child
