Our Children

When I look into the eyes of a little baby
And wonder how it felt when I was there
How helplessly I needed compassion
To know someone was always there to care
Somehow it seems that we've forgotten
Their love you just can't buy it anywhere
If I'd only remember where I came from
And where I need to go from here

Is there anyone who'll care for our children?
I know their hearts are reaching out for someone to love
If you'll only take the hand of a lonely child
Their love will soon be coming back to you

Some may feel that this doesn't concern them
There's always someone else to do their share
But friend just take the time to look around you
Is there anyone who can't afford to care
If there comes a time when we don't need them
And God would come and take them all away
Only then will we know what He gave us
When all we had to do was guide their ways

Is there anyone who'll care for our children?
I know their hearts are reaching out for someone to love
If you'll only take the hand of a lonely child
Their love will soon be coming back to you
