Yellow

There is a painting on my wall
It's got yellow shapes and
Curves that make it look nice
People say that they like it
But I'm sure I like it more

I'm feeling an ache in my shoulder blade
When will you come home to rub it til tomorrow
I'm caught in the wake of a hurricane
Will it sweep me away from here to another

There is a carpet on my floor
Yellow paisley swirls and burgundy feathers
The room catches the sunshine
My skin turns orange, and gold

Sitting alone in my special place
I am surrounded by artistic endeavours
Caught in the wake of a hurricane
Did it sweep me away from here

Art imitates life
Or is it the other way around
I don't know
Come to my bleeding heart
Don't fear my art

There is a painting on my wall
It's got yellow shapes and
Curves to make it look nice
People say that they like it
But I'm sure I like it more
