I'm a Bean

Comin' up out of the ground
I'm on the tallest sprout around
Climbin' toward the sun
Soakin' in the April showers
Hey there, have you seen my flowers?
My life has only just begun

I've been through germination
Thanks to my determination
Fell from my plant, then I hit the ground
Here's where my journey begins
I've packed up all my nutrients
Get ready to hear my sound

I'm a bean
And there's soy much that I haven't seen
Words cannot espresso much
This world ain't ready for me
I'm a mung the very best
I'm lean and green and packed with protein
I'm a bean

Everyone expects me to
Fit in a can, but there are few
In which I feel I belong
A pea in a pod among my brothers
But I know that I'm not like the others
I gotta sing my song

They say
Be just another lima dozen
Ha! Are you kidney?!
I may be green
But I know my worth and you'll see
Not gonna sit around
And wait for the sun to dry me out
I know my destiny is calling me

I'm a bean
And I'm breaking out of my routine
I was never meant to be a cog in a machine
I'm going fava than I ever dreamed
I'm gonna do you proud, it's time to live out loud

I've never seen a bean on my TV screen
Think of all the little beans I could inspire
Maybe one day they could all feel seen
And we'll keep liftin' one another higher and higher

There's got to be a first and I can break the mold
Beans shouldn't have to be just what they're told
Now I know I have a dream
But it's more than just for me
