Long Run

I drag my feet through every day, but my heart is heavy
Too many people I stood by, I had to leave behind me
I opened up about my weaknesses and they exploit me
Some got my lyrics on their skin but act like they don't know me
I know I'm not perfect, I've done a fair share of things to deserve it
But the good I've done, I hope you remember it
I watched your admiration slowly turn to jealousy
I'm self-sufficient because nobody's ever there for me
I try not to give in to the anger that's inside of me
I remind myself to build my platform on integrity
I don't know who to trust now, I let you in just so you could find your way out
So I hold my friends a little closer now

All these tears I gotta hold back, hold back
Life goes on, at least we always say that
I want to know who's really here for me by side
Yeah in my life, you a wrong one
If you're not in it for the long run

I did my best to hold you down when you was at your lowest
You harbored all this animosity but never showed it
I planted seeds for us to thrive, but you could never grow it
I think about you every night, but now you'll never know it
And now I'm movin' so cold, I wonder who'll be standing by me when I grow old
If you're in my life to bring me down, just go

All these tears I gotta hold back, hold back
Life goes on, at least we always say that
I want to know who's really here for me by side
Yeah in my life, you a wrong one
If you're not in it for the long run

All these tears I gotta hold back, hold back
Life goes on, at least we always say that
I want to know who's really here for me by side
Yeah in my life, you a wrong one
If you're not in it for the long run
