ironic fairytale

I feel the warmth from the air on my skin
I feel your touch as we sit hand in hand
We watch the sky turn orange
As we grab our picnic lunch
Lay your head on my shoulder
But our love won't be enough

We're watching the sunset but it's not the sun
It's a meteor headed straight for our home
We want it to happen but it won't turn around
So we watch that meteor come down
Someday i'll try cyanide
I don't think that it's something i will survive
Being with you forever is just out of reach
So i'll sit happily as we drink our bleach

But what we talking about
Are we suicidal
What we stressing about
It's a classic tale of happy ever after

Where the villain wins and the princess dies
It doesn't matter now if the hero survives
You can come along as the train derails
All the hope is gone in this fairytale

I'm anxious
You notice
I want it to last
And you know this
You're nauseous
Already homesick
I want this
I promise
But then i turn my back and i walk away
Cuz the love we had it didn't stay
The world burned up it went up in flames
And the knight in shining armor lies in his grave

He's dead
He probably tried cyanide
He joined us
Drank bleach and then he died
It's just a joke
He probably got stabbed with a knife
By the witch
In her cloak she was the love of his life

Or so he thought
This is that famous tale

Where the villain wins and the princess dies
It doesn't matter now if the hero survives
You can come along as the train derails
All the hope is gone in this fairytale

This is the end of the world, this is where everything ends
This is the simply messed up life that we never thought we would live
And this is the end of road, this is the end of the line
I know that we said long ago that i was yours and you were mine
This is the story of old, this is where everyone wins
This where all the shots we took went up in the air and missed
And i know that you may be confused cuz this tale doesn't make sense
But what in the world can you do when your story ends in death

You can hold on to the promise
That no matter what comes, when facing giants
He will not leave He will stay beside us
In the heart of the battle in the den of lions

Where the lions win
And we're sure to die
No matter what we do
We will not survive
Cuz we're weak and frail
And we'll always fail
If we trust ourselves
In this fairytale
