Marine Corps veteran, five years in the service
PTSD, sometimes I get nervous
And I cause a disturbance, when people act up
Got me reachin' for my hip to tell the people back up
I don't really wanna flip, it's like I have bad luck
I need help, I feel emotionally handcuffed
Wanted wealth, but see, money don't make you happy
If your heart ain't filled with love, you gon' be miserable and crappy
Families say they love you, but their actions showin' different
And friends, nine out of ten, are non-existent
So when your mentality is keep the clip in
You have to be prepared to die or go to prison
Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait, hold up I don't wanna live like that
So I had to change my way of thinkin' or become part of the system
Another statistic, it's time to save our loved ones and start movin' different

I used to feel confused, now I have purpose
Educate my people, cut the tongue off of the serpant
He want us depressed, so we don't see the grace
Like the Book of Eli, I'm walkin' in blind faith
The devil knows the word more than you do
And he has ways to make you feel unuseful
Depression, anxiety, things like mental health
I use the scripture as a weapon to defend myself
Get closer to God, turn away from sin
Y'all wanna be like superstars, I wanna be like him
Like when a kid tries on your shoes
And he's there to pick me up whenever I feel battered and bruised
And I wanna feel high, but not off liquor and drugs
But off the energy of his love, sometimes we just need a hug
And a few words of encouragement
So I read and prayed to receive my daily nourishment
