I dont know if you sent a songbird my way
Or elsewhere
But I caught it in the midst of its tracks
And found, its words
Spoke a language we once knew

And I know I'm in no place to say a word
But I longed for a chance to stop by, to say I

An artist with a battered heart
Who dreamt of all the skyscapes
And the longing of a home in this world
