Moonlit Servitude

In days of yore, the lonesome hunter fought
The beasts of Yharnam, surviving the onslaught
Serving the church, apprentices he taught
To keep the beast in check and follow the old gods

Whispers of forgotten lore, the knowledge beckoned
The pious church descends into depravity

His fervorous apprentice, Maria once so pure
Partakes in inhumane research for sake of lore
Can't bear the guilt, the blood-stained hands
How can she hope to ever make amends?

Descend into abyss of night
Succumb to your rage and fight

Encumbered by the guilt, can't stand the pain
Maria takes her life, her cursed soul remains

In the abyss of malevolence, her mind was to distraught,
But sadly it's too late, to leave the dream again

And as he listens to the moon at night he hears it whisper
"Your loved one is alive within my realm"
"Become my servant and I'll let you be with her"
That's all it took to seal his fate and sell his soul
Trapped in the hunter's dream until someone would take his place
Forever separated by the hutner's fate
