When We Were Kids

Remember when we were just kids
We didn't care what day it is
What happened to us?
How did we grow up?
On a sunny day we would skip and run along the lake
And make noise
In a funny way we could slip and fall along the way
Just like boys

Down the hill
Past the trees
Home is where I am flown all in
On a breeze roam where I can
On the street past the shop
Down as the hill goes
It's so steep
You should stop
As the wind blows

And now we know we are not kids
What can take a truth we pulled the lids
What was it inside there?
It left us so bare
And as some would say finished things were never used again
Like our toys
When the skys are gray anger brings
The things that drive a wedge
Between boys

Down the hill
Past the trees
Home is where I am flown all in
On a breeze roam where I can
On the street past the shop
Down as the hill goes
It's so steep
You should stop
As the wind blows

And so today we should be watching
Out for those who use ploys
So that they could say that despite
It all we still remain boys

Down the hill
Past the trees
Home is where I am flown all in
On a breeze roam where I can
On the street past the shop
Down as the hill goes
It's so steep
You should stop
As the wind blows
