All Silent

All silent
In deep woods
Cept crickets chirp
Or trees breath
Yet uneasy, my skin contort
Pierces the silence
A low rumble
Becoming some clamorous groan
My body fearful and numb feel
I hope for its end, now howling sound
Vocals strain and twist still
The distant outcry stops abrupt

All silent in these woods
Till again started with a chirp
The way a song bird, perfecting its tune would
Click and moan, more distant now
Together it slurs, pronounced clear

Help
Help me
Help

My stomach sinks, my father's saying I remember
The further it sounds, the closer it is
As screams move deeper into timber
Now all silent in these woods
Now all silent in these woods

Help
Help me
Help
