Fool Again

Well I dialled the number on the telephone she gave me
When a guy named Jose picked up I thought it's kinda shady
But the way she looked on Friday night had me crazy
I would be a fool to think a girl so cool would betray me

Lacquered my hair, changed my underwear and said a little prayer
With so much to discuss I hopped on a bus to go and meet her
With the name of the bar written on my arm I got there
Thought there was no-one around when two guys held me down and into their car

I'm a fool again
Swallow my pride, might as well be cyanide
I'm a fool once more
I'm a fool again

By the dirge of the docks around 7 o'clock I'm stranded
They took all my money, think they broke my arm, glad I'm right-handed
It was too good to be true, my chance with you's disbanded
Wish I was wiser to the risks running round demanded

With all the lessons learned you'd think that I'd have earned some lady luck
But it seems to me she was using me for a quick book
I came to the conclusion when Jose's solution was an armed ruck
But I like the lights this time at the docks so I'll stay stuck

I'm a fool again
Swallow my pride, might as well be cyanide
I'm a fool once more
I'm a fool again
