The Garden

I was born in a garden
At the same time as spring
Gave life to white anemones
Which made the bumblebees sing

In the garden stood a lonely oak
About as tall as me
It was planted by the family stone
To watch over me

Where they water I belong
Where they seed becomes my home
Never thought I'd last this long
Thanks to them I carry on
In the garden of my life

I made friends with the low tides
And went carried by the stream
Seduced by youthful flowering
I made my way to the field

And there are things I won't talk about
Cause they're buried underneath
The dried and gravelly sowing soil
In the tracks along the field

Where they water I belong
Where they seed becomes my home
Never thought I'd last this long
Thanks to them I carry on
In the garden of my life

Where they water I belong
Where they seed becomes my home
Never thought I'd last this long
Thanks to them I carry on
In the garden of my life
