Chicago

Life is picking up quick
You drop the ball and you pick up sticks
And you fall and skin your knee on the pavement
But laugh until you can't breathe remembering it

Well time is moving by fast
Get in the car and you pack your bags
Now you sit on the train watch the city fly past
And wonder how and when did I do all that

Leaving I know but staying I don't
Deal me in play all my cards Chicago
Been climbing up that hill, now on it standing still
Take my hand and pull me in Chicago

I should take some time to rest
But rest when you're dead is what they've said
So I guess I'll just take a second to breathe in and breathe out
remember how far I've come now

And I'm beginning to see
Joy in the plain and love in mundane
It's all as sacred as it is profane
A testament to our numbered days

Leaving I know but staying I don't
Deal me in play all my cards Chicago
been climbing up that hill now on it standing still
Take my hand and pull me in Chicago
