Pride
I don't got everything figured out
That's for sure
I can make it seem like I do
But keeping it real, it's all for show
I got lots of people telling me imma make it
I don't know
Think I like the odds stacked against me
But that's my pride talking again, oh no
When I'm confident, no stopping it, can't make amends
With my way, I will surely win
My accomplishments, the best candidate
There's no other way around it
I'm on top of it
I'm like Everest, the way I chill at the top
Then I snap out of it
Man, get these thoughts up out my head
I battle with myself
This thing called pride taking over once again
Do I let it tear me apart from within or humble myself to be a man?
God I'm done with it
And I'm sick of it
And I'm tired of arrogance
I seek the Lord instead
God give me this daily bread
Cause without you I'm simply a mess

Pride tippy toes into my life in silence
Tells me everybody wishes they were just like I am
Then I look around
And see there's nothing that's behind him
Cause pride leads to nothing
Except the emptiness inside it
The Lord is my shepherd
Know that He will be my guidance
Staying humble's hard
But know that grace ain't far behind it
Just trust in the one who knows your heart and your desire
God gives me fruit and it ain't ever gonna expire

Now let me talk about what's on my mind
I was stuck in a loop for a long time
Think back to the days when I was lost
All my life just tried to be a nice guy
My life was comparison, embarrassing
To think about the pride felt deep inside
I was trying to build my character
But undoubtedly, lost myself, trying to prove that I
Could make it out the mud on my own
Ignore the Lord's provisions
Instead I'll sit up high on my throne
Didn't think I needed God until I felt so alone
Then He changed my life
Now I'm feeling like I'm at home
So hey pride, it's me
Go ahead and come out from your hiding
Show yourself to me and all the ways that you've been lying
And now that you're out in the open
You know we're fighting
Cause God's the one in charge and in Him I am abiding
