The House

To you it seems a quaint place
To me it's a hell I'll never escape
A wooden prison painted white
Infested with pain
Disguised in the brick is the red blood
I can't think about it without going numb
A memory of joy replaced with hate
The night the mortar turned black

The house
The brick
Cast your stone
The glass
The walls
No longer my own
The fear
The pain
Have taken my soul
The mortar
Now black
No longer my home

Since I've left I'm still stuck in that place
The sounds of night haunt me in my dreams
Though I'm safe I still lock my door from fear
To keep out the fear is what I lock it for
My dreams are filled with those floral halls
And the sight of blood dripping down their walls
Fear consumes me as I fall asleep
Forcing me awake
I feel the blood drip down my wrist
Reliving the night I felt my life
Break

I still have this dream
I look out my door to see
The eyes of a figure staring back at me
My home rotting away
Underneath
